'Your Voice' is clearly Madhouse's attempt on creating something as succefull equally 'Kimi no Na Wa' and 'Koe no Katachi'. Your Proper name + A Silect Voice = Your Voice. Similar dude, could you exist any more obvious? Unfortunately, they even failed to print the audience who typically likes this blazon of drama.

Kimikoe is what I call a slice of life mess. It'due south a 90 minutes long life story which simply said contains too much, yet doesn't really even know what it is supposed to be about.

Nagisa, our main character is apparently a lacrosse histrion. If yous don't know what lacrosse is, information technology is a sport which is practically the combination of softball and floorball which is played outdoors on a field like to american football. This, like pretty much everything else in the movie, is completely irrelevant. The writing is on real thin water ice. It'southward adequately similar to 'Sora yori mo Tooi Basho' except in that location is no adventure in this one. Apparently, all of this is just an excuse anyhow because the only real purpose why this movie exists is the drama.

Nagisa seems to be some sort of emotionally unstable daughter whose past story doesn't give us much more info about her other than she used to cry as a child and misses her grandma, and all sort of not- butterfly-and-rainbows level stuff happens to her until she finds out what real friendship is. It's quite hard to find any sort of emotional connection to her and what she is "going through" merely considering she randomly goes to random places and random things occur without at that place being whatever sense to any of it nor whatever single believable reason for her to do anything she is doing. The storytelling is presented in a manner where viewers just randomly observe new factors that pop out, assumably the actual story was written similarly. Only random ideas thrown hither and there because they wanted this movie to be "something more" but actually it just became "less".

Product-wise, this moving-picture show doesn't achieve much. When it comes to the art and sounds, the character blueprint distantly reminds me of 'Hourou Musuko' which is the nro 1 reason why I even watched this movie. The seiyuu cast contains some big names, simply Nagisa herself is casted by someone whose crying scenes and acting convey zero emotions and zero characteristics. Outside this, at that place isn't anything worth of noting.

As a conclusion, I didn't especially bask watching this picture. It was simply very tiresome and felt both: pointless and amateurish. The fans of 'Sora yori mo Tooi Basho' might stll find it worth of their time because they are rather similar overall and fabricated by Madhouse.

I'k not certain if this is really an accommodation, but "Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai" sure feels like ane. You lot can almost come across earlier your mind's eye the numerous subplots cut and graphic symbol development missed during the film's roughly 90 minutes of runtime. It feels like a pocket-size piece of a much bigger whole, trying to do much but ultimately accomplishing picayune.

The story has way as well many characters, and thus most of them remain largely undeveloped. Their personalities and roles can be described in a single sentence. Heck, the daughter with the pigtails seems to serve admittedly no purpose aside of serving cookies to the others and being shy. The plot itself as well seems to become in style also many directions for its ain expert, attempting to juggle numerous plot threads at in one case (just to name a few: the comatose mother in the infirmary, the estranged childhood friends, the amateur radio station, the principal protagonist'southward plans for the future), only ultimately non giving most of them the time and attention they deserve.

The fine art style is... let'due south say minimalistic. It was hard to tell at times whether I was watching a series or an actual motion-picture show; if this actually had a significantly bigger upkeep compared to you everyday anime, they didn't do much with it. It surprises me, considering I tend to associate the Madhouse studio with higher quality.

That said, the movie is non at all unwatchable. It'due south more like a "cute trainwreck"; the overall message and content is generally fun and heartwarming, simply behind it all seems to hibernate a ane-cour serial or OVA that would have had enough room to practice this concept justice, and which never actually got made.

1 of the things that can actually tackle down my enjoyment of an anime is when it nowadays itself in an original matter, but falls into the archetype pattern of it'southward ain genre once it actually starts. Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai is also ane of those cases. A well made piece of life movie, pushed down past it's unability to brand itself different.

Merely permit'south commencement from the scratch. I was really looking forward to seeing this after reading the synopsis, which seemed a bit inovative compared to all other slice of lifes. I expected a story about how broadcasting tin change lives of a lot of people and I thought the movie is gonna focus on the bigger picture show. In this case, on all the people that can get to listen to our main heroine'due south vocalisation. Did that happen? Sadly not.

The film itself starts off almost the aforementioned way every bit every nowadays movie does. It'south finish of the year, summer holiday are coming and our presented friends are planning on what to exercise. However, on her mode home, Nagisa, our main heroine, stumbles upon an abandoned café. She tries to explore it and finds an old radio station. She can't resist and makes her very get-go broadcast. Sadly, that's where things start going down.

Non down in the matter of quality, just in the affair of how is the story presented. Until at present, fifty-fifty if only in details, a lot of things seemed a bit original compared to others. The girls are playing lacrosse, Nagisa does a lot of personal things like shouting her bug into a ringing bell and, of course, the plot is virtually broadcasting. Honestly, was this idea always even used as a chief plot device? Even if yes, you can't but say that it sounds interesting.

Notwithstanding, what the movie does is, instead of focusing on the dissemination itself, it goes down to the classic cute girls piece of life. Nagisa is maybe the chief heroine, only in about the third of the film, membership of the "radio society" suddenly jumps upwardly from ii to six. And with that, the plot losses a lot of it's originality. It doesn't experience like something impactful anymore, it seriously feels like just some other schoolhouse club setup, which wasn't the case early on, and shouldn't have been the case fifty-fifty later on, if you ask me.

The characters themselves, while having decent chemical science, human activity in a very generic matter. We have the maid-like girl who serves café and says impaired things. We accept the Tsunderish aggresive blazon that always wants to compete with her childhood friend even though she's amend at everything. Then there's the obsessive daughter, and the e'er calm ane. You come across, I don't tend to brag about originality all that often. Yet, this movie really doesn't do a very skilful chore at making characters diverse. Or original, for this thing.

A big problem that relates with the characters not beingness top-notch comes up when they desire yous to experience for them. Actually, talking near emotions, the whole film doesn't exercise a particulary good job at making you care when it matters. For the virtually part, it's pacing is quite good. However, there are about ii or three moments which drastically change the set tone just in order to make the characters shed some tears. Not only these moments feel indredibly forced, it as well damages the touch of the concluding minutes, which, looking from todays perspective, was the only time tears were supposed to pour.

Also, while it's almost a necessity to terminate up a piece of life in a happy matter, this whole movie was 1 of the most straight-forrard I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. That in itself isn't really that big of a problem. However, I have a hard time non critisising the motion-picture show for information technology'southward predictability when I could literally motion-picture show the catastrophe scene 10 minutes after it all started.

Fine art is, on the other hand, an surface area in which the picture pleasantly suprised me. Every scene looks very clean, polished, some of the background shots were borderline beautiful. Even moments that tend to exist very sloppy, like bike riding, were animated in a respectful manner and added to the fact that is all is very nice to look at. Sound was OK.

------

I took this review from the negative side of things by and large, simply please, don't let it mislead you! Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai is definetly non a bad motion-picture show. Just a 1 that ended upward a bit bellow my expectations. And that has to affect my rating in one fashion or some other, no matter how much I wanted to dear it.

Thought the movie was good or then just I was honestly allow downwards. The drama is just as well excessive and the story is far too elementary.

The main grapheme Nagisa was just a bomb. She seemed to exaggerate her feelings and it was only likewise much unrealistic. The overdramatic way she bursts into a keen girl to know about others is just silly. Too the moment when Shion's mom woke up afterward 12 years but on their style out of the town is just likewise much for a coincidence.

The story is damn manifestly. vi girls on their summer vacation got along in a studio to exercise radio broadcast for recovering one'south mom who laid in coma for 12 years after an accident. Afterwards having their studio taken over and Shion's mom being transferred out of the boondocks, the remaining five girls forth with the assistance of the townsmen, held their last radio broadcast in a temple yard. Astonishingly, the song played on the broadcast past everyone, reached Shion's mom and she finally recovers. Am I the just one who dislikes this direct story?

Including and talking about Kotodama was the merely matter I liked as, I myself am a kotodama believer. Kotodama only means the power that each person'due south speech holds. If you want something good, your kotodama will somewhen come to reality only if you despise someone with your words, then your ain kotodama will come up dorsum to hunt you.

Ok so let me say this, if y'all accept no more movies in your plan, then watch this. This movie almost probable will irritate you lot for excessive drama but you may find it a bit comforting if you are looking for simple social anime life.
